Floyd County Traffic Courts
Traffic court records in Floyd County are not held by one countywide ticket office. Rome Municipal Court handles regular uniform traffic citations and other municipal violations inside Rome. Floyd County Probate Court handles traffic citations issued outside city limits. Cave Spring Municipal Court handles its city citations. Juvenile Court handles traffic offenses by children age 16 and under, and those juveniles must appear with a parent and pay any fine in cash after court.

Search Rome Traffic Citations
Rome Municipal Court uses Municipal Online Payments, the Tyler payment and search portal. Rome's city instructions say non-mandatory appearance fines may be paid in person, by mail, or online, and payment must be made by 5:00 PM Eastern the day before the assigned court date. The city page tells regular uniform traffic citation users to use name in capital letters, date of birth, and driver's license number, while the inspected Tyler configuration exposed Driver's License and Social Security Number search methods.

Floyd County Probate Traffic
Floyd County Probate Court is a major traffic channel because it handles citations issued outside city limits. The Rome/Floyd Probate instructions say that if no court appearance is required, a citation fine may be paid online through EZCourtPay or by calling 1-800-262-0128. The user needs a citation number, date of birth, and the jurisdiction value "Floyd County Probate." Probate traffic court is Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00 AM, and those required to appear should arrive before 9:00 AM, dress appropriately, and check in at the front counter.

Cave Spring Municipal Court is another separate traffic route. Court is held at 3:30 PM on the first Monday of each month at the Cave Spring City Hall Courtroom, 10 Georgia Avenue. The Cave Spring page says court dates are printed on citations, and payment can be made in person at City Hall, by mail to City of Cave Spring, P.O. Box 365, Cave Spring, GA 30124, or through the city's official online payment link. The Government Window portal lists traffic tickets as a payment type, court clerk Judy Dickinson, and phone 706-777-3382, though the exact payment form fields were behind a robot check.

Cave Spring records should not be searched only through Rome's municipal portal because the citation court controls the payment and appearance rules.
What Floyd Traffic Records Show
A traffic court record is the court's file for the citation. It is not the same as a state driver record. The court record can show the citation number, court name, charge, statute, court date, appearance requirement, fine and costs, plea or payment status, disposition, local notes, and failure-to-appear or warrant status. Some information may be visible online, while older files, certified copies, and restricted records may require the court clerk.

Note: Paying a traffic fine can act like a guilty plea, and Rome warns that under-21 drivers, CDL holders, and drivers with too many points may face suspension or revocation.
Court Record vs Driver Record
The local traffic court record and the state driver record answer different questions. The court record explains what happened with the citation in Rome Municipal, Probate, Juvenile, Cave Spring, or another court. The state driver record is maintained by Georgia DDS and may show convictions, points, suspensions, revocations, CDL consequences, and license status. Correcting one does not automatically correct the other.

DDS records are essential for license consequences, but they do not replace the local citation file held by the court.

Floyd Traffic Record Access
Georgia's Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. 50-18-70 et seq., presumes public records are open unless a statute or court order makes them exempt. O.C.G.A. 50-18-71 governs inspection, copying, fees, search, retrieval, and redaction costs. In practice, traffic record access in Floyd County still starts with the court named on the citation because each court controls its docket, payment status, and certified copies.
Access limits: Juvenile traffic records, sealed cases, protected identifiers, and records affected by Georgia record restriction may not appear like ordinary adult traffic tickets.
For records not available through a court-specific route, Floyd County's NextRequest portal is the county open-records fallback. It should not be used as a shortcut around a court clerk when the request is for a certified court file, a sealed matter, or an active court docket.
CDL DUI and FTA Issues
Rome's payment instructions warn that commercial driver's license holders, drivers under 21, and drivers with too many points may face suspension or revocation from a guilty plea. Those drivers should be careful before paying online. A CDL consequence may show later on the DDS driver record even when the local court record looks like a simple payment transaction.
DUI-related traffic matters should be treated as criminal-adjacent or criminal cases, not simple payable tickets. Serious traffic charges, arrest cases, probation issues, and warrant cases can route into Superior Court, Magistrate Court, Municipal Court, or prosecutor channels depending on the facts. A failure to appear can also create a bench warrant or license issue. When that happens, the relevant court and the Floyd County Sheriff's Warrant Division both may need to be checked.

That is a payment and notice route, not the same as a standard Probate traffic docket.
